So lately I have been checking out this website called denofgeek.com. It is this amazing website that reviews movies, television, games, and books. One of the many interesting things about it is the top ten lists. I really get excited when an article comes out for them, whether its Top 10 Forgotten British Fantasy Moments or Top 10 Mad Scientists or even Top 10 Movie Spoofs. They are lists of movies that really show how much these guys really know about their film. Lots of other really fun articles litter this site, such as Ready Reckoners, where the writers delve into the careers of certain writers or actors.
I was surprised when I first went to the site, because they shared a lot of the same views as I did on certain movies. Even though there are a lot of things I disagree with, such as their statement that all Meg Ryan movies are crap, it is always really interesting to hear their views on movies. I think that I disagree with them on subjects like the aforementioned only because the site is dominated by male writers. There are a few female ones, but only some. I'm a girl, so I have different opinions on romantic comedies. Like most girls out there, they are simply fantastic, no matter how bad they are. In fact, when they are really bad, they are really good due to how bad they actually are.
I like how I can read an article in my local newspaper that absolutely rips new movies to shreds and then head online and get an accurate review on this website. For instance, Get Smart was totally trashed in the paper I read. I went to see it anyway, and I totally had a different stance on the film, even though some things I agreed on. I went online, and they gave it a lot more credit that the film totally deserved.
If you are a film geek, or really, any kind of geek for that matter, you should definitely head to this site. It will be worth your while.
